Back in first year at Emily Carr, I did a sketch of this photograph, a life-size sketch of the girl on the right. Then, I did an imaginated sketch.. of a purse that I imagined she had. It had lollipops, cigarettes, condoms, change, and cheap lip gloss. This photograph is heart-breaking to look at. My final conceptual sketch, was a fist crumbling a dying flower. Now seeing this photograph, reminds me of the long hours staring at her figure, kneeling down with charcoal. Sheila did a great job teaching us, and I am glad I got to do this project.
