Life is good. Busy, but good. I am starting to learn how to actually take the restaurant business with a grain of salt. The majority of the time, is never really personal. The good thing is, those who usually give me the hardest time end up showing me the most valuable lessons of all. Sometimes I hate it, because of how business-like everything seems, people are no longer genuine or sincere at...

I told mama to start writing letters for her future grand kids. I was never that close with my grandparents, so I want my kids to have that chance and actually get to know how amazing their grandma is. Imagine that. How nice it would be, to have someone to think of you so much ahead of time. I would love to have my grandparents write to me. I think I will start writing, too.

He left for Toronto for the birthday weekend.
I got a BIG morning greeting on his computer :D
That can probably make me smile for the whole day.

Today I woke up late, walked around with messy hair and cold feet. I drank some African tea and ate cheese. I took my time applying for the internships. I did nothing, really. But it felt good. It felt really good doing nothing but letting everything else calm down for a while.

I went to the Health Show today. The place was flooded with artificial vitamins and weird coloured drink supplements. Trying out wheat-free bread and gluten-free soy milk didn’t make me feel that much healthier. That level of consciousness was a bit extreme, I never thought being healthy can be such a complicated deal. Fiona and I left the show early, we had sweet yummy pies at the Gallery....

Full of thanks
This year, I have so much to be thankful for.
Thank you,
for another year of health and happiness,
for the comfort and blessing of family and friends,
for the guidance and support in life,
and for enabling me to stay truthful and grateful all along.
Thank you,
for giving me the opportunity to learn alongside other inspirational individuals,
and for the possibility to travel, and explore...

A Poem from Ben
Let’s make a wish underneath the starry sky
Perfection noticed in the blink of an eye
Twirl the hand it’s hard to stand, please carry me inside
Where we go I do not know
Snowflakes dancing down below,
The ground is soft our hearts aloft,
That twinkle in your eyes
The roots are deep the trunk is steep,
With tender care and silk black hair,
A flower has grown to share.

I am such a hippie at heart.
Arts and Creativity heal my soul. It makes me feel like home, when I am with people that are doing good for other people, for bettering our lives as a whole. It makes me smile.

After our short getaway to Salt Spring, I miss the small town feel. It’s cozy and familiar. I like it when days are spent with people you care about, when dining at the only local restaurant is considered a special night out, when you wake up with no phones ringing or no emails flooding into your mailbox, when looking outside the window make you feel living in a painting.
